TEAM LEAD — 2ND SHIFT
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (12-hour nights) Pay: $20–$24/hr DOE Employment Type: temp-to-hire
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Royal Interpack is a fully integrated, eco-friendly PET thermoforming manufacturer producing food-grade packaging for the produce, bakery, and grab-and-go industries. Their Whitestown, IN facility is part of a global operation employing 500+ people and producing over 300 million lbs of recycled PET annually.
POSITION SUMMARY
The 2nd Shift Team Lead is responsible for overseeing production line operators during overnight operations at the Whitestown facility. This role ensures production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and the team operates safely and efficiently throughout the shift. The ideal candidate is a bilingual, hands-on leader with a manufacturing background who can direct a diverse workforce, troubleshoot line issues, and serve as the primary point of accountability when senior management is off-site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, direct, and support production operators across assigned lines during 2nd shift
• Monitor production output and pace; make real-time adjustments to meet daily targets set by management
• Conduct start-of-shift meetings to communicate priorities, safety updates, and production goals
• Perform quality checks on finished product; identify and escalate non-conforming product per SOPs
• Assist operators with machine setup, changeovers, and minor troubleshooting when needed
• Document production data, downtime events, and shift activity accurately
• Enforce all safety protocols, GMP requirements, and food-grade facility standards
• Communicate shift performance, issues, and handoff notes to oncoming shift lead and management
• Support training of new operators on procedures, equipment, and safety
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement on the floor
• Serve as the primary point of escalation for production and personnel issues during 2nd shift

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required — this is a critical function for communicating with the full 2nd shift workforce
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Prior team lead, supervisor, or lead operator experience strongly preferred
• Some machine operator experience a plus; does not need to be expert-level
• Ability to read and follow work orders, SOPs, and production schedules
• Strong floor presence — comfortable holding a team accountable and resolving conflict directly
• Reliable and available for consistent 12-hour overnight shifts Monday–Friday
• Solid communication and documentation skills
• Familiarity with food-grade, GMP, or regulated manufacturing environments a plus

• Extended standing, walking, and moving throughout the production floor during a 12-hour shift
• Lifting up to 50 lbs as needed
• Working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
• PPE required throughout shift (safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hearing protection as applicable)
