Quality Inspector - Mechanical - Level II

Overview SQA Services provides managed supplier quality services including audits, assessments, remote surveillance, corrective actions, remediation, inspections, and engineering solutions. We deploy a network of associates across the United States and in over 90 countries to provide rapid on-site support at supplier locations. Our associates are quality assurance professionals with extensive experience and local expertise. Position Quality Mechanical Inspector — Hawthorne, CA. 6-month contract. Responsibilities Perform in-process and final inspections of mechanical and composite components Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using hand inspection tools and surface plates Verify compliance to engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements Inspect precision mechanical hardware for workmanship and dimensional accuracy Document inspection results and communicate nonconformances when identified Utilize computer systems for inspection, reporting, and documentation Support ongoing production quality activities in a fast-paced aerospace environment Qualifications Experience performing mechanical inspections in aerospace or manufacturing environments Strong hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and other inspection tools Proficiency in GD&T interpretation and dimensional inspection Experience performing inspections on a surface plate Comfortable using computers for documentation and reporting Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background check Must be located within commuting distance of Hawthorne, CA Associate's degree or higher in a related field, or equivalent experience Certification in inspection techniques or GD&T is a plus Experience inspecting composite and precision machined aerospace components Prior experience supporting source inspection or supplier quality activities Experience working in high-volume or fast-paced aerospace production environments Compliance Note: SQA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
