About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS required Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: Three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00. Every other weekend and holiday required. No call or block scheduling. Travelers must float to like acuities or less if needed. First-time travelers are welcome. This emergency department has 34 beds catering to neonates through geriatrics. The department averages about 100 visits per day. Use of Epic and Pyxis is required. An emergency department provider is present on-site. There is a triage area and telemetry services available. Some conscious sedation may be performed. Candidates must have NIH/Stroke certifications. Charge experience is preferred but not required. Candidates will not be interviewed; offers will be processed quickly. All requested time off must be included at the time of submission. Patients seen include those with abdominal pain, acute psychosis, and respiratory infections. Candidates must manage a variety of patient needs, from drug overdoses to seizures. Candidates will work within an interdisciplinary support team including pharmacy, respiratory services, and radiology. Daily patient ratios range between 5-6 patients per nurse. This facility treats patients of all ages including neonates and geriatrics. The facility includes supportive services such as rapid response teams and social services. Skills in IV management, airway management, and mental/behavioral health conditions are essential. The facility is certified for stroke care. Active participation in maintaining patient safety and care standards is crucial.
