Sr. Security Intelligence Investigator Location: Fremont, CA or Austin, TX What to Expect Security Intelligence Investigators protect Tesla’s intellectual property, trade secrets, and confidential information. The role conducts both proactive and reactive investigations and actively addresses internal and external threats to Tesla’s equities. It reports to the Manager for Security Intelligence Investigations. What You’ll Do Be a member of a team of investigators to identify, exploit, disrupt, or protect against any undermining of Tesla’s business operations Conduct highly sensitive, complex, and confidential investigations into incidents of data loss, intellectual property theft, technology misuse, and conflict of interest Collaborate with technical forensic investigators to integrate technical and human investigations into one high‑efficiency function Partner with Legal, Human Resources, and other investigative/analysis functions across the company to ensure timely completion of investigations Advise the company on the findings of investigations and liaise with law enforcement and outside counsel as necessary Solve complex problems with data from multiple sources and make recommendations to leadership on the appropriate strategy Effectively communicate at all levels of the company, including at the executive level What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years of experience as an investigator with local, state or federal law enforcement or intelligence community and/or equivalent experience in a corporate security environment Experience in conducting and overseeing complex, global investigations using open-source investigative techniques, including social media analysis Demonstrated knowledge of investigation strategies utilizing technical forensic capabilities and data Proven track record managing multiple complex projects simultaneously while remaining focused on critical priorities Demonstrated experience of regular communication at executive level within a global environment Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, OneDrive, PowerPoint, and Excel; experience with SOAR/SIEM platforms and DLP tools is a plus The highest level of integrity and honesty and the ability to protect sensitive confidential information Benefits Aetna PPO and HSA plans; two medical plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family‑building, fertility, adoption, and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both with options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company‑paid HSA contribution when enrolled in the High Deductible Aetna medical plan with HSA Healthcare and dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company‑paid Basic Life, AD&D, short‑term and long‑term disability insurance Employee Assistance Program Sick and vacation time (flex time for salary positions), and paid holidays Back‑up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight loss and tobacco cessation programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Compensation Expected compensation: $128,000 - $228,000 per year plus cash and stock awards and benefits.
