Production Coordinator

Production CoordinatorAs a production coordinator within the fast-paced School of Film and Acting, you will provide critical support during production season, including live theater productions, music events, student performances, and other university and departmental activities.To support productions, you will:Be a production manager or mentor student stage managers for all departmental auditions, rehearsals, and performancesAct as head bookkeeper and budget manager for productions and related expendituresOversee and direct house management duties for Mondanaro Theatre, the Lucas Theatre for the Arts, Trustees Theater, classroom performances, and site-specific eventsHandle off-site performancesCoordinate equipment transportation and supervise load-insAs a production coordinator, you must effectively:Book and manage contracts with guest artists or laborers, including travel and housing arrangementsDevelop, maintain, and use departmental student contact listsSchedule all venues for department rehearsals and performancesAssemble a master calendar and update it regularly to ensure consistency between departmental and university-wide calendarsStrong candidates will demonstrate:An ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleaguesExcellent organizational skillsAn ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentMinimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in theater management, film production, stage management, technical direction, or a related fieldAt least three years of professional experience as stage manager, film assistant director, company manager, house manager, or technical directorProficiency with relevant technologies and softwareProven track record building and maintaining budgets and related systemsExperience with leading and training students in stage managementPreferred qualifications:At least five years of professional experience in regional theater, touring, or Broadway productionsAdvanced degree or certification in a related professionLeader or participant in relevant professional or educational certifications and associationsDemonstrated ability with leading undergraduate and graduate students in stage managementTravel required:Less than 10%Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday.
