SUMMARY Provides good public relations with the community and visitors. Receives all persons entering the building with cordial respect, providing them with the information requested, and directing them to the proper person or places. These services are consistent with the Home's standards and philosophy and comply with all regulations, codes, policies, and procedures that govern the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Answer telephone; determine nature of the call and direct caller to appropriate individual or department, screen calls as requested. • Receive and deliver accurate messages in a timely and prompt manner. • Able to listen with empathy to Resident and family concerns. • Uphold and enforce Home's security plan, sign in and out, monitor surveillance cameras, and only allow the entrance of those recognized. • Direct physicians, sales representatives, workmen, admission inquiries, job applicants, and anyone requesting assistance to the proper person. • Accept mail deliveries, prepare mail for delivery, accept donations, and direct to proper personnel. • Report suspicious persons/information to the supervisor immediately. • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment in the reception area. • Maintain confidentiality of all Resident, departmental and organizational information to assure that Residents' rights are protected. • Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to the supervisor as soon as possible. • Strive for optimal use of supplies, and materials, keeping in mind cost and budget limitations. • Assure that the work assignment area is neat, clean, and left in order when leaving for breaks, end of the day, etc. • Assist with and perform clerical and other duties as directed by supervisor. • Maintain a current file/listing to include: Residents by name and room number, emergency phone numbers, department extensions, and key personnel. • Work effectively and cooperatively with all departments or other disciplines. • Monitor the activity of confused Residents when they are in the reception area. Contact the unit staff if there is any question as to a Resident leaving the building unattended. • Flexible inability to cover work schedules for co-workers concerning vacations, illness, and emergencies. • Understand fire and emergency procedures, promptly contact proper authorities, utilize sound judgment, and remain calm. • Observe dress and conduct codes, including wearing an identification badge
