Travel RN - Medical ICUAmerican TravelerNew Haven, Connecticut, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1Start date: 2026-11-20$3,288.08/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring a CT or compact license and prior Level I trauma center experience.DetailsNight shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)Mixed acuity MICU unit with occasional SDU assignments (3:1 ratio)Average patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekendsNo call requirementsFloating required to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as neededEvery other weekend coverage requiredUses Epic charting systemLevel I Trauma Center, Academic Medical Center settingRequirementsActive RN license (CT or Compact) requiredCurrent certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSSMinimum 2 years of MICU experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I trauma or travel experience)Level I Trauma Center experience at a large facility requiredSkills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure1 professional reference requiredFlu vaccine required with no declinations acceptedCOVID vaccine and booster required, with religious/medical exemptions onlyAdditional InformationProvide critical care nursing in a mixed acuity Medical ICU settingTravelers are expected to participate in any natural disaster or emergency response activity as neededCandidates must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital to be eligible, as local candidates are not acceptedUp to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approvedFormer staff members must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a travelerFirst-time travelers will be considered for this positionHours per week: 48Hours per shift: 12
