CDL-A Driving Team Member Recruiting and Retention Coordinator

BRT is seeking a motivated, personable, and organized CDL-A Driving Team Member Recruiting and Retention Coordinator to attract qualified driving team members, create a welcoming hiring experience, and support lasting relationships with BRT driving team members. You will help candidates navigate the hiring process and stay connected with driving team members to strengthen engagement and long-term retention. What You’ll Do Driving Team Member Recruiting and Onboarding

• Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified and experienced CDL-A driving team member candidates
• Respond to applications and candidate inquiries promptly and professionally
• Conduct initial telephone screenings to evaluate qualifications, experience, employment history, availability, and interest
• Explain BRT’s driving opportunities, compensation, benefits, schedules, equipment, operating areas, home-time expectations, and job requirements
• Maintain communication with candidates throughout the hiring process and coordinate interviews, applications, documentation, and pre-employment activities
• Partner with Human Resources, Safety, and Operations to help candidates move efficiently through the qualification and onboarding process
• Support driving team member referral programs, recruiting incentives, sign-on bonuses, job fairs, recruiting events, and driving team member-focused advertising
• Reconnect with qualified former applicants and eligible former team members when appropriate
• Maintain accurate recruiting records and help evaluate the effectiveness of recruiting sources

Driving Team Member Engagement and Retention

• Build professional, trust-based relationships with new and existing driving team members
• Conduct scheduled retention check-ins and stay interviews to understand the experiences, concerns, and ideas of new and existing driving team members
• Listen to feedback regarding communication, schedules, equipment, compensation, training, management support, home time, and other workplace matters
• Document concerns, communicate them to the appropriate manager, and follow up to help ensure they receive appropriate attention
• Identify recurring concerns and trends that may affect driving team member morale, engagement, and retention, with a focus upon strong Driver retention metrics
• Provide leadership with updates and reports on recruiting activity, turnover, retention risks, driving team member feedback, and opportunities for improvement
• Support initiatives that strengthen communication, recognition, engagement, and BRT’s workplace culture
• Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and a positive, supportive approach when working with team members

Work Environment and Schedule

• Office-based / hybrid work arrangements
• Occasional evening or weekend communication may be necessary to accommodate driving team member and candidate schedules
• Occasional travel to BRT facilities, recruiting events, orientation locations, and driving team member operating areas may be required
• General office duties, extended computer and telephone use, and occasional lifting or carrying of recruiting materials weighing up to 25 pounds are part of the role.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in recruiting, transportation, driving team member relations, team member engagement, customer service, sales, dispatch, or a related field required
• Familiarity with CDL-A transportation, petroleum hauling, tanker and hazardous-materials operations, including CDL licensing, required endorsements, and basic driver qualification requirements, is strongly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with candidates and driving team members.
• Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills
• Ability to manage multiple candidates, appointments, deadlines, and competing priorities
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
• Proficiency with email, word-processing software, spreadsheets, applicant-tracking systems, AI, and other business technology
• Valid license to operate a motor vehicle and acceptable driving record when travel is required
