Job Description Job Description Job Title: Lead Carpenter Location: Harwinton, CT (Serving the New England Area) Position Type: Full-time (Minimum 40 hours/week) Pay Rate: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour (with performance-based increases over time) Job Summary We are a premier direct-to-consumer manufacturer of high-quality outdoor structures, including sheds, garages, pool houses, and pole barns. We are seeking an experienced, safety-minded Lead Carpenter to head our on-site installation and construction crew. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team to build and install structures on-site for our clients across the New England area. This position is based out of our Harwinton, CT location, provides paid travel time to and from job sites, utilizes a company vehicle, and supplies all necessary tools. Key Responsibilities Crew Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and work alongside an on-site installation crew to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to our high quality standards. On-Site Construction: Lead the hands-on building and assembly of custom sheds, garages, pool houses, pole barns, and other outdoor structures. Plan Interpretation: Read and accurately interpret blueprints, architectural plans, and structural drawings to execute builds precisely. Carpentry Execution: Perform and oversee advanced framing, roofing, and siding installation. Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy machinery on-site, including telehandlers, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts, to facilitate high-elevation framing and material handling. Safety Leadership: Enforce strict safety protocols on-site, maintaining a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant work environment. Client Interaction: Act as the professional face of the company on-site, answering client questions and ensuring high customer satisfaction. Qualifications & Requirements Certifications Required: Must possess a valid OSHA 30 certification and an OSHA Lift Certification (for telehandlers, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts). Experience: Proven experience as a carpenter with specific expertise in framing, roofing, and siding. Previous leadership or foreman experience is highly preferred. Technical Skills: Mastery of standard carpentry techniques and layout. Strong ability to read, analyze, and build directly from structural plans. Equipment Proficiency: Fully capable and comfortable operating telehandlers, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts on active jobsites. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights on lifts/scaffolding, and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Travel & Driving: Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to operate the company vehicle from the Harwinton shop to various job sites throughout New England. What We Offer Competitive starting pay of $35.00 – $40.00 per hour. Paid Travel Time: Get paid your regular hourly rate for all travel time from our Harwinton location to the job site and back.
