Legal Associate

Supporting the Legal Team in a remote full-time capacity, the Legal Associate will manage legal document processing, bankruptcy notices, and estate claims while ensuring compliance and mitigating risk for the credit union. Key responsibilities Review and process legal documents, including levies, garnishments, and subpoenas, ensuring timely action and compliance Manage the estate/probate claims process, including filing claims and corresponding with legal representatives Verify critical dates and maintain accurate records of bankruptcy filings, ensuring the protection of the credit union's interests Required qualifications Associates degree or equivalent experience is required Minimum of 3 years of experience in the legal field or financial institution is required Proficient computer skills, including intermediate Excel proficiency Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are required Excellent interpersonal communication skills are required
