We are currently recruiting multiple dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to serve at the Office of Community Care (OCC) located at 4100 E. Mississippi Ave, Glendale, CO 80246, where you will help veterans and their families access high-quality, coordinated healthcare services. In this role, you will use your clinical expertise, sound judgment, and compassion to provide both direct and indirect care in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Principle Accountabilities Clinically review consults and care requests for completeness, appropriateness, and utilization review. Disposition care in the community according to established utilization review guidelines. Review incoming medical records and document communication with ordering providers and primary care teams. Coordinate care by corresponding with veterans, community providers, internal clinicians, and administrative staff to ensure care authorization and processing. Triage specialty consults for clinical appropriateness and completeness in alignment with National RCI Standards. Communicate with veterans to explain healthcare options, including VA facility or community provider choices, ensuring informed decision-making. Provide clinical expertise and serve as a resource for multidisciplinary staff within and outside VISN 19. Collaborate with CACs to update or improve consult templates. Serve as a liaison between internal VA staff, Community Care personnel, ordering providers, and specialty care services. Establish and maintain trusted relationships with specialty providers and clinics where RCI is implemented, representing Delegation of Authority for RCT specialty triage processes. Knowledge and Skills Must have exceptional customer service skills. Employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the job requirements, including ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently. Education An Associate's or Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from an accredited university is required for this position. Qualifications Minimum of two (2) years of experience within the last three (3) years as a Registered Nurse. The provider shall possess the required qualification/elements to be privileged and/or credentialed in accordance with the background checks, fingerprinting, badging, annual fit testing, and pre-employment and annual drug testing. The qualifications at a minimum will be based on Joint Commission (JC), or equivalent, quality standards for training, education, and competency. Must have and maintain one of the following certifications: Basic Life Support for health care providers through the American Heart Association, CPR for the professional rescuer through the American Red Cross or the American Safety and Health Institute. Resume must reflect sufficient level of expertise in Emergency Medicine or Occupational Medicine to perform core responsibilities to include providing medical consultations, evaluations and treatment for both initial and follow-up of work-related injuries or diseases. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based medicine. Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player. Duty Hours / On-call Requirements This position has availabilities to work day shifts. Advanced notice will be provided for scheduling purposes. The duty hours for this position are Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Office of Community Care (OCC), 4100 E. Mississippi Ave, Glendale, CO 80246.
