With a global mindset and project experience in more than 150 countries, the Acrow team is proud to deliver on its shared mission of building bridges and connecting people, leaving a legacy of partnership and purpose.What's in it for you?Medical, dental, vision, long term disability and life insurance, 401K and Paid Time Off, Voluntary Accident, Critical Illness, Hospitalization coverage.Primary Purpose:Under direct supervision complete arc weld sub-assemblies and assemblies in accordance with company standards.Duties and Responsibilities:Arc weld parts, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and other products for structural projects involving down hand, flat, vertical and horizontal positions.Interpret welding symbols from drawings and printsSelect proper electrodes, set up machines and adjust to meet requirements of the productUse hoists to handle materials to and from welding areaComplete hand bending to fixturesIdentify parts required and assist fitters in the assembly of the parts.Follow procedures in assembling parts in welding jigs and assist in perfecting proper assembly and welding sequences.Remove slag and clean work.Weld with stick or semi-automatic welding equipment, including gas shielded equipment.Report production difficulties to Plant Superintendent.Maintains ground clamps and electrode holders.Visually check welds and repair defective weld, check work for appearance, cracks, rust, slag, etc.Understand all safety procedures. Ensure safe work practices are followed and maintain a safe work environmentUnderstand and adhere to all Acrow's policies and applicable lawsTravel to other Acrow Locations or Customer Sites as necessaryPerform other duties as requiredSkills and Knowledge:Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentExcellent attention to detailFamiliar with AC or DC arc welding and semi-automatic welding equipment.Knowledge of gas shield equipment, hoists, burning torches, portable grinders, scaling hammers, fixtures, templates, safety equipment, power and hand tools.Sound decision making skillsMinimum Education and Experience:High School diploma or GED0-2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experienceWorking Conditions:Work is performed in a production environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work requires physical effort in the handling of materials and equipment. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.First and Third shift, Monday through Thursday 10 hours per day.
