Cost Controller - Construction Projects Mining

Job Description Facilitate Project Execution – basic day‑to‑day accounting functions, analysis and forecasting of expenditures, and reporting on project performance. Ownership of cost controls ensuring compliance to budget, scope, and schedule during all stages of projects Manage budget updates and reforecasts in line with the project schedule in consultation with Studies Team Facilitate development and implementation of mitigation strategies to ensure both budget and schedule are maintained through completion of project Manage project general ledger accounts and month‑end processes to ensure proper allocation of project costs Assist in the establishment of controls for new projects Create reports on project performance relating to schedule and costs including budgets, actuals, forecasts, and variances Assist in the updates and reviews of Project Execution policies in compliance with company accounting policies and procedures. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see. Must be able to work shift work with 12‑hour shifts. Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday. Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity. Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel‑toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
