Hiring Pay Range: $20.31- $21.56, DOE Range 31

40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm or 6:30AM- 3:00PM (includes 30 min unpaid meal break)

11 Months, 233 days paid days per year

Definition: Under general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty leading and coordinating the cleaning of the interiors and exteriors of buildings.

Essential Functions:

• Lead, coordinate, prioritize and schedule the work of assigned custodians.
• Coordinate work requests from principals and school staff with custodians.
• Order and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and maintain supply issue records.
• Report building damages and maintenance needs to appropriate maintenance staff.
• Document custodial attendance and performance and assist Principal/Assistant Principals in preparing performance reviews.
• Perform custodial tasks, including sweep, mop and polish floors; vacuum and clean carpets; dust and clean chalkboards, furniture, windows, blinds and equipment; clean, sanitize and disinfect restrooms and shower rooms; move furniture and equipment; replace light bulbs and fluorescent tubes; sweep walkways, pick up paper and trash from grounds; secure rooms upon completion of work; set up furniture and equipment needed for special events, meeting and classes.
• May position crosswalk caution signs and act as crossing guard for students.
• May assist in supervising cafeteria at lunchtime.

Knowledge, Skills and Other Characteristics:

• Knowledge of the safe handling of hazardous materials/supplies used for sanitizing, cleaning and/or disinfecting.
• Knowledge of proper methods and practices for cleaning a variety of surfaces in accordance with established health regulations.
• Knowledge of the operations and maintenance of cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, mops and extractors.
• Skill in coordinating, prioritizing and reviewing custodial work and staff.
• Skill in using cleaning equipment and hand and power tools.
• Skill in reading written instructions and following written and oral instructions.
• Skill in safely using cleaning chemicals within OSHA guidelines.
• Skill in completing assigned tasks independently.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and administrators and students.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• One (1) year of experience leading custodians.

Special Requirements:

• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Level I - IVP Fingerprint Clearance card through Arizona Department of Public Safety.
• Valid Arizona Driver's license and clear driving record
