Teller - Float

Job Purpose This position will be responsible for providing excellent service to our customers in accordance with Peoples Bank policies. The role includes opening deposit accounts, processing teller transactions, selling bank products and services, assisting customers with maintenance requests, and resolving customer service issues. The employee will identify additional customer needs and refer them to appropriate business partners. This sales and service role is vital to achieving branch goals and delivering industry‑leading customer service. The position requires traveling daily to various branch locations within the footprint; reliable and timely transportation is essential. Job Duties Deliver superior customer service with friendly demeanor and can‑do attitude. Develop and retain the customer base; greet by name, maintain account ownership knowledge, and respond quickly to correspondence and problem resolution. Maintain confidentiality of all customer business. Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, examine checks for endorsement and negotiability. Process complex multi‑step teller transactions. Research and offer solutions to resolve customer issues using organizational knowledge; provide follow‑up to customers. Initiate conversations to uncover customer needs, refer customers to platform associates, and meet referral goals. Make sales calls via phone or Zoom to prospects weekly, meet branch calling goals, and record activities in Salesforce. Consistently meet or exceed sales referral goals; maintain knowledge of full product line. Maintain balancing and error records in line with policy; find and correct outages; enlist help as needed. Follow operational standards regarding security, risk management, and compliance. Complete required training for all bank and branch policies and procedures. Meet scheduled working hours as designated by manager. Meet Retail Branch Standards including dress code. Perform special projects as assigned. Education, Experience & Job Skills High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year related work experience in customer service. Ability to work in fast‑paced environment with high accuracy and attention to detail. Proficient in basic computer operations; quickly learn job‑specific software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive and professional attitude. Proven team player. Daily reliable and timely transportation; must travel to various branches. Role requires standing; bending or squatting may be required; ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Requires travel to internal education/meetings; may include overnight stay; travel also required to fill in at other branches. Trustworthy and confidential behavior essential. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year related work experience in customer service. Daily reliable and timely transportation. Role requires standing; bending or squatting may be required; ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Requires travel to internal education/meetings; may include overnight stay; travel to fill in at other branches.
