Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant - Onsite Hospital Role

Position Overview

As a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant at Consonus Physical Therapy, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation journey of patients by supporting Licensed Physical Therapists in delivering quality care. Your responsibilities will include administering therapeutic treatments, documenting patient progress, and actively participating in patient education within our Physical Therapy/Functional Restoration Program.

Work Environment

Operating primarily within a hospital setting, our Physical Therapy department is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and technology designed to facilitate effective rehabilitation. You will work in a dynamic, onsite environment where teamwork and communication are critical. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the occasional need for flexibility based on patient schedules and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Licensed Physical Therapists in implementing prescribed treatment plans for patients, ensuring adherence to protocols and safety standards.
• Conduct routine therapy sessions using established procedures, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation.
• Monitor and document patients' conditions, including physical responses to treatments and any changes in their conditions, and report findings to supervising therapists.
• Help maintain accurate patient records that comply with healthcare regulations, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive patient data.
• Engage with patients in educational discussions, guiding them through exercises and addressing their questions or concerns to foster understanding and compliance.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on adult orthopedic patients dealing with chronic pain and rehabilitation following surgery or injury. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work closely with these individuals to help them regain functional mobility, reduce pain, and achieve their rehabilitation goals through a personalized care approach.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program is required.
• A current and unrestricted Physical Therapy Assistant license in Virginia, or the ability to apply for licensure.
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong emphasis on patient interaction.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
• Experience working with adult patients recovering from orthopedic surgery or managing chronic pain conditions.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems to efficiently manage patient data and treatment documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
