We offer flexible work scheduling and a full benefits package including medical insurance, vacation, paid holidays, and membership in the North Carolina retirement system.This position performs advanced and specialized professional level nursing work in providing primary, preventive, and rehabilitative care to individuals, families and communities in a Public Health program.Examples of duties include supervising coordination and collaborative efforts of the multidisciplinary staff working in programs and clinics; observing and assessing clinic flow for all services in collaboration with other program coordinators/unit heads to evaluate and plan for changes that are more efficiently used for personnel and work area; assessing combined services provided to patients to ensure their safety in the management of care by the staff; providing information to the Director of Nursing and the Health Director regarding information and concerns regarding all program services through the provision of meetings, memos, and/or written proposals; ensuring that program guidelines, policies and procedures are relevant and updated to present need status for program services and that the quality of care is assured and State requirements are met; participating in the decision making processes for all areas of program administration; maintaining the equipment Quality Assurance; initiating program goals and objectives, long and short range; developing a strong referral and resource network within the community, which is of primary importance, in order to meet the client and program needs; formulating plans for integration of new services for areas which need strengthening; assessing individual clinics and staff needs for areas of weakness and improved nursing care; working independently to plan and monitor public health services that affect patient care, pregnancy outcomes, safety and well-being of patients and staff; serving as a resource for the interaction with different providers and staff (MDs, PAs, NP's, RNs, OBCMs, Nutritionists, Lab and Management Support personnel); maintaining close working relationships with other supervisory staff in the agency and attending regularly scheduled agency team meetings; and providing Disaster Health Services for the American Red Cross as assigned.Typical qualifications include graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation, and two years of Public Health nursing experience; or, Master's in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing, and two years of professional nursing experience; or, graduation from a school of professional nursing and three years of professional nursing experience including two years of Public Health nursing experience; or, an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special requirements include a current license to practice as a Register Nurse in North Carolina by the N. C. Board of Nursing and a valid Driver's License.Supplemental information includes background records check, drug screen, references, transcripts and certifications will be required for the successful candidate. Health We offer a high-deductible health plan with a $5000 deductible (Single). This program includes a Health Savings Account (HSA). Employee only coverage is completely funded by the County, PLUS the County contributes $1200 to the HSA annually. Dental Our dental plan provides for preventive services, such as cleanings each year, at 100%. There is a $25 deductible for other services. Basic services pays at 80% and other major services at 50%. The County contributes $14.47 per month for employee coverage. Voluntary Plans Employees may choose from a variety of plans arranged through Mark III Benefits. These include AFLAC Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity plans; MetLife Group Cancer; MassMutual Whole Life; and Superior Vision plans. In addition we offer Short-term and Long-term disability. Life Insurance The County provides $10,000 Basic Life insurance for employees. An employee may choose to purchase additional voluntary term life insurance. Retirement Pension is offered through the N.C. Local Government Employees' Retirement System. Employees are required to contribute 6% of gross wages toward their account. The County also contributes at 14.40% (law enforcement 16.08%). 401(k) and 457 are supplemental retirement plans administered by Empower. For the 401(k) plan, employees contributing a minimum of 1% are eligible for the County contribution of 2.5% toward their account. Employees contributing at least 3% or greater are eligible for a County Contribution of 3%. Law Enforcement Officers receive a 5% County contribution. The 401(k) plan offers both pre-tax and Roth after-tax contributions. The 457 plan is tax-deferred with no minimum contribution requirements. Longevity Pay The County offers longevity pay to employees with at least 5 years of continuous service.
