Electrician I

Overview As a Maintenance Electrical Technician, you will be an integral part of our maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant and manufacturing equipment. You will uphold high standards of safety, quality, and workmanship while performing a wide range of maintenance tasks. Your duties will include diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic malfunctions, as well as performing preventive maintenance and equipment installations. Responsibilities Maintain a thorough understanding of plant safety policies and procedures, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with these standards, and adhering to environmental policies. Drive root cause analysis by applying electrical and mechanical knowledge; utilize instruments such as multimeters, meggers, and amprobes to diagnose and address equipment issues. Install and start up new manufacturing or support equipment, including foundation preparation, assembly, leveling, and alignment according to manufacturer specifications. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and assist in developing maintenance schedules and procedures for plant and manufacturing equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, replace fuses, repair wiring, and replace defective components; design, lay out, fit, and install conduit, cable trays, and wiring systems. Plan material requirements and fabricate tools, components, or assemblies using methods such as welding and bolting. Conduct bench repair and rebuild of electrical and mechanical components; perform layout, fitting, and installation of piping components and systems. Operate machine tool job shop equipment, including mills, lathes, and surface grinders. Identify and implement improvements in materials, methods, and processes to enhance profitability and efficiency; contribute to root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving efforts. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment. Proficiency in using electrical and mechanical tools and instruments. Basic understanding of CNC machine controls and machine shop equipment operation. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics. Demonstrated initiative and problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in confined spaces and heights. Capable of standing, bending, and performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
