JOB OVERVIEW

Provide services and support as an Engineering Functional Area Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist (EN102) under Labor Category: Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) at Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina. Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist - Engineering (EN102) work collaboratively as part of the ProSidian Engagement Team as Exempt personnel. Dedicated Planned Labor Hours (DPLH) of 2080 Straight Time (ST) Estimated Annual Quantity (Hrs. Per Yr.) | 200 Overtime Time (OT) Estimated Annual Quantity (Hrs. Per Yr.). This is a Labor Hour Subcontract or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099) Position, and ProSidian reserves the right to convert to a Full-Time ProSidian-employed W-2 Position. The role(s) are located at Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina with identified Work Site Address (121 Richland Ave E, Aiken, SC 29801, USA) providing Engineering functions working to provide BOA Support Services for multiple department requirement Service Areas (SA) for Savannah River Remediation LLC (The SRMC/LW Contractor) at the U.S. Department of Energy | Savannah River Site (DOE-SRS) in Aiken, SC to support the evolving needs of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist - Engineering (EN102) Serve as a Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist (Fire Protection Engineer) in support of ongoing operations at Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC in Aiken, South Carolina. The primary purpose of this position is to perform internal fire protection-related assessments and observations; analyze the results of both internal and external fire protection-related assessments; and work with Fire Protection Engineers (FPE), Design Authority Engineers (DAE) and Facility Operations personnel to effect resolutions to identified issues, gaps, and vulnerabilities in the Fire Protection Program. Perform internal fire-protection assessments and observations. Analyze internal and external assessment results to identify program issues, gaps, vulnerabilities, and improvement opportunities. Review and extract relevant information from assessments, program documents, procedures, and technical reports with little or no supervision. Develop, maintain, and administer fire-protection databases covering Standards/Requirements Identification Documents (S/RIDs), NFPA requirements, and the Fire Protection Database System (FPDS). Perform causal analyses using Causal Analysis System/Technique (CST) inputs and other assessment sources to support root-cause remediation and proactive corrective actions. Collaborate with Fire Protection Engineers, Design Authority Engineers, and Facility Operations personnel to resolve identified deficiencies. Revise or develop procedures, training protocols, and implementation actions supporting compliance with DOE-STD-1066-2012 and SRS Site Manual 2Q.

STANDARD DUTIES:

Analyze, review, assess, and extract relevant information from assessments, program documents, procedures, and technical reports with little or no superv1s1on Support development, maintenance, and administration of Fire Protection-related databases regarding S/RID and NFPA requirements, including, but not limited to, the Fire Protection Database System Perform Causal Analyses using CST and other assessment-related sources to assist in effectively designing and implementing both root cause-based remediation and proactive-based resolution Work with FPEs, DAEs, and Operations personnel to revise/develop procedures, revise/develop training protocol, and develop/recommend other implementation actions as needed to support compliance with DOE-STD-1066-2012 and Site Manual 2Q. Qualifications Desired Qualifications For Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist - Engineering (EN102) (EN102) Candidates: Prior experience implementing S/RID requirements, including Safety Basis requirements, at the Savannah River Site. Prior quality-assurance auditor experience. Prior causal-analysis experience. Conduct of Operations training. Operational Readiness Review experience or comparable readiness-assessment experience. Familiarity with electronic document-control and configuration-management systems used in nuclear or chemical facilities. Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with engineering and operations organizations. Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in Business, Communications, Education or Engineering, with 10 years equivalent experience in project I technical support or document /configuration control in/ nuclear/chemical facilities/environment. Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in Business, Communications, Education, Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 10 years of equivalent experience in project or technical support, document control, or configuration control within a nuclear-facility, chemical-facility, or comparable highly regulated environment. A combination of qualifying education and directly relevant experience must demonstrate the technical depth required for the assignment. Prior experience implementing S/RID requirements, including Safety Basis requirements, at the Savannah River Site. Prior quality-assurance auditor experience. Prior causal-analysis experience. Conduct of Operations training. Operational Readiness Review experience or comparable readiness-assessment experience. Familiarity with electronic document-control and configuration-management systems used in nuclear or chemical facilities. Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with engineering and operations organizations. Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist - Engineering (EN102) Candidates shall work to support requirements for RFP301367 Fire Protection Engineer (Engineering Services) and provide BOA Support Services for multiple department requirement Service Areas (SA) for Savannah River Remediation LLC (The SRMC/LW Contractor) at the U.S. Department of Energy | Savannah River Site (DOE-SRS) in Aiken, SC to support the evolving needs of the organization. Skills Required Primarily focused on Fire Protection Program Improvement Support Specialist initiatives and aligned with Program Support activities Engineering Functional Area Activities.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Candidate must be familiar with electronic document control and configuration management systems (e.g. SRS Linking Document Database (LDD) or Fire Protection Database System (FPDS)) Candidate must have prior experience with S/RID requirements (e.g. Safety Basis) implementation at SRS. Candidate must have prior QA auditor experience Candidate must have prior Causal Analysis experience Candidate must have Conduct of Operations training Candidate must have Operational Readiness Review or comparable expenence. Candidate must have interpersonal skills so as to establish and cultivate positive working relationships and interfaces with both internal and external customers Candidate must be fluent in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel/Power Point

Ancillary Details Of The Roles Personal vehicles operated by Candidate must have valid registration Supports ongoing Savannah River Mission Completion operations in Aiken, South Carolina. Functions as a fire-protection program-improvement specialist and may be referred to as a Fire Protection Engineer within the assignment context. Primary interfaces include Fire Protection Engineers, Design Authority Engineers, Facility Operations personnel, internal assessors, and external assessors. Work emphasizes program assurance, requirements traceability, corrective-action effectiveness, and sustained compliance. Key governing references include DOE-STD-1066-2012, Savannah River Site Manual 2Q, applicable NFPA requirements, S/RID requirements, and Safety Basis controls. The position is assessment- and improvement-oriented rather than primarily design-oriented. Success depends on converting assessment evidence into practical procedures, training changes, database updates, remediation actions, and proactive risk-reduction measures. Work is expected to be performed in close coordination with site personnel and within established SRS conduct-of-operations, quality-assurance, document-control, and configuration-management processes. Other Details Work Hours: A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules, including 5/8s (8 hours/ day; five days per week), 4/1Os (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). A 4/10 schedule is preferred. Work week excludes SRS holidays. Standard workweek: 40 hours. Available schedules may include 5/8s, 4/10s, or 9/80s. A 4/10 schedule is preferred. The workweek excludes Savannah River Site holidays.
