Our client, a national leader in commercial title and escrow services , i s seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriting Manager to lead and support a team of underwriting professionals within its growing National Commercial Services division. This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished title insurance leader to combine hands-on underwriting expertise with team leadership responsibilities while overseeing complex commercial real estate transactions.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the consistent application of underwriting standards, managing risk, supporting transactional teams, and developing high-performing underwriting professionals. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated commercial real estate matters while helping shape operational excellence and team success within a nationally recognized organization.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred
• 5-7+ years of commercial title insurance and underwriting experience
• 3-5+ years of supervisory, management, or team leadership experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of commercial title insurance commitments, policies, endorsements, and underwriting practices
• Experience underwriting complex commercial real estate transactions, including multi-property and multi-state transactions
• Demonstrated success leading teams, managing projects, and driving operational improvements
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Strong understanding of commercial real estate transactions, title risk assessment, and settlement processes
• Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and business units
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and leadership skills
• Experience mentoring, developing, and retaining high-performing talent
• Strong customer-service orientatio n with the ability to manage client expectations and deliver solutions

What You’ll Do

• Lead the day-to-day operations of a team of Commercial Underwriters and related title professionals
• Provide underwriting support, guidance, and expertise to company personnel, agents, customers, and transaction teams
• Evaluate and underwrite commercial title insurance commitment s, policies, and endorsements within delegated authority limits
• Ensure consistent application of underwriting standards, risk management practices, and company guidelines
• Provide guidance and oversight related to commercial real estate settlement services and transaction execution
• Manage departmental priorities, workflows, resources, and performance objectives
• Support complex commercial real estate transactions by identifying risk factors and developing practical underwriting solutions
• Participate in project reviews, operational planning, and departmental strategy initiatives
• Review and approve underwriting decisions, p olicy structures, and transaction-related recommendations
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and mentorship, and support employee development initiatives
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention of underwriting talent
• Partner with executive leadership on operational planning, s taffing decisions, and organizational initiatives
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement

• Salary: $117,500+ , as determined by experience and qualifications
