Nurse Manager of Ventilator and Step Down Units Full-time In 1875, Isabella began a tradition of caring for those in need. More than a century later, most still come to us for the same kind of care. Clinical and operational oversight of the Respiratory care Program. Utilizing an interdisciplinary care approach, responsible for all aspects of care and practice within the program. Responsibilities and Duties Provides clinical and operational direction for the ventilator care services on House 9 and step-down respiratory services on house 10. Collaborates with the chief Nursing Officer and Manager of Respiratory Services to ensure services rendered meet or exceed standard of care. Monitors quality outcomes and initiates/oversees quality improvements activities to ensure optimal results. Coordinates service delivery among all disciplines including Resp. Therapy, Nursing, Medicine, Soc. Service/Disc. Planning, Recreation, Pastoral Services and Nutrition, etc. Facilitates rounds and care planning processes. Oversees residents' clinical status and develops reports for various clinical committees. Consults with Admissions Department on potential admissions. Ensures engagements with families upon admission whenever feasible and ongoing thought stay. Review PRI's for Ventilator/Tracheostomy resident. Education / Licensure BSN Required MSN Preferred Licensed and registered as a NURSE in NYS Experience Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Nurse Manager/ Supervisor in Long Term Care or Hospital setting with Respiratory/Pulmonary services: or 4 years' progressive nursing experience including direct patient care, leadership and education.
