Position Details Job Location: Atlantic City, NJ 08401 Education Level: None Salary Range: $5.62 - $5.62 Hourly Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Any Job Category: Restaurant - Food Service Reports To: General Manager/FOH Manager Position Summary Interact with Guests while following our service standards, take Guest orders and deliver food and beverages. This position ensures the quality of the food and that the overall Guest experience is excellent. Also responsible for bussing and cleaning their own tables as well as all billing and payment processing. Responsibilities Greet Guests in a friendly professional manner. Provide education about Chickies style of service, the food and beverage menus, how menu items are prepared, ingredients used and different cooking methods. Ensure menu, food preparation and ingredient knowledge to address Guests food allergy concerns and questions. Smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times. Perform light food preparation duties when needed. Follow all Chickies & Petes service standards including up‑selling and suggestive selling. Inform Guests of daily specials. Check food and beverages for quality and presentation, following Menu Builds, before serving. Serve food and beverages to Guests. Check identification to ensure that Guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages. Recognize signs of intoxication and handle alcohol‑related situations effectively; keep manager informed of situations involving intoxicated Guests or refusals of service. Provide food and drink recommendations to Guests. Receive Guest payments and process transactions. Thank Guests sincerely, make them aware of upcoming specials or events and invite them back soon. Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly according to proper sanitation standards. Ensure all condiments and napkin dispensers are clean and well stocked. Respond appropriately to Guest complaints and bring any issues to the attention of a manager. Perform marketing and other promotional services as needed. Complete beginning, change and end of shift side duties. Understand the importance of speed of service and act with sense of urgency when performing job tasks. Attend all scheduled employee meetings. Perform any additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications Must consistently assess, anticipate and meet Guests’ needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from the Guests’ overall dining experience. Clearly communicate in a professional manner with Guests, vendors, coworkers and management; understand instructions, read written company memorandums and ask for more direction or training when needed. Adapt to different personalities of Guests and coworkers without losing focus. Work in a team‑oriented environment; establish good working relationships. Understand all Chickie’s & Pete’s products and services and be able to understand Guest’s needs clearly. Perform physical activities requiring moderate strength (cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing, handling materials); stand for long periods. Recognize problems when they arise and resolve them appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure. General accounting and mathematical skills required along with point of sale application knowledge; use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for successful outcomes. Evaluate current practices and processes, recognize potential areas of conflict and initiate improvements to business methods, product and service quality. Speak and write effectively in English. Occasionally work overtime and assist with the workload of others if needed; additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
