The Tennessee School for the Blind (TSB) is on the hunt for a dependable and detail-oriented individual to help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for our visually impaired student population. This role is crucial in supporting the health and wellness of our students, staff, and visitors.
Position Overview
The role involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety, ensuring our facilities remain welcoming and secure for everyone. You will work the second shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Join us in making a difference!
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to operate custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, floor scrubbers, and carpet extractors
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependability and reliability
- Compliance with the Employee Drug-Free Workplace Policy
- Pass a TBI/FBI background check and fingerprinting
Preferences
- Familiarity with basic maintenance and sanitation standards in school or institutional environments
- Understanding of safety practices related to custodial work
- Awareness and sensitivity to working in an educational setting with students who are blind or visually impaired
