Charge NurseThe Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care. We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Charge Nurse- M.D.S Coordinator. This position will ensure resident assessments (M.D.S). Experience with M.D.S/R.A.I. in long-term care is a plus. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm. Required to have an active, unrestricted/probated status as a Registered Nurse on the KBN licensure verification. Skill and expectations for this position include but are not limited to:Good communications and documentation skillsInitiates M.D.S and Care Plan process for new residentsEnsures compliance with State, Federal and VA guidelines relating to M.D.S and Care Planning.Good work ethicsCritical thinking and problem solving skillsTeam leaderAdminister medications and treatments, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans.The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serve Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. This position, in Hopkins county has an approved Locality Premium of $14.36 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: See Special Requirements.EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.SUBSTITUTE EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.SUBSTITUTE EXPERIENCE FOR EDUCATION: NONESPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be licensed in Kentucky as a registered nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
