Freight Forwarder Assistant, Air Export GatewayLocation: Itasca, ILSummary: A Freight Forwarder Assistant is responsible for providing support to the freight forwarding team, including assisting with documentation, data entry, customer service, and general administrative tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with the preparation and processing of shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing listsEnter shipment data into computer systems and ensure accurate record-keepingCommunicate with customers, carriers, and other third-party service providers to coordinate and track shipmentsProvide administrative support to the freight forwarding team, including answering phones, responding to emails, and filing documentsAssist with billing and invoicing processesEnsure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade lawsEducational background / Work experience:Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferredExperience in air exports is highly desirableSkills & Competencies:Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and ratesOther Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentFunction / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Processes:Knowledge of air freight logistics and customs regulationsUnderstanding of trade laws and regulationsLanguage skills:Fluency in English is requiredKnowledge of additional languages is a plusComputer Literacy:Proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with logistics software and systems is preferredAt Will Employment: DSV Air & Sea Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as "at will" employees.Expected base pay range is $20.75 - $27.75 / Hourly.
