Sales Manager- Landscaping

Overview:

A well-established, growing landscaping and grounds maintenance company serving both residential and commercial clients throughout the DC metro area is looking for an ambitious, self-motivated Sales Manager to lead business development. The company maintains a strong existing client base (150+ mowing accounts and a growing commercial portfolio including HOAs, schools, churches, and grounds maintenance contracts) plus year-round services including seasonal/winter operations. This is a ground-floor opportunity with real room to grow into a larger sales or management role as the business scales.

Responsibilities:

• Prospect and close new business across HOAs, schools, churches, and other commercial properties
• Use existing lead sources (referrals, digital/paid ads, inbound leads) while also building your own pipeline through direct outreach
• Upsell and expand services within the current residential and commercial client base
• Manage the full sales cycle — from first conversation through proposal, close, and handoff to operations
• Build and maintain relationships with property managers, facility directors, and other key decision-makers
• Represent the company in the community and with prospective clients

Requirements:

• 5+ years of sales experience in landscaping/grounds maintenance strongly preferred;
  construction sales experience will also be considered
• A proactive, hunter mentality- someone who goes and finds the business rather than just managing what comes in
• Energetic, charismatic, and comfortable starting conversations with new prospects
• Strong follow-up habits and responsiveness- quick to act when a lead comes in
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a good problem-solver
• Ambition and a desire to grow- this is a career move, not a short-term stop

Compensation

Base salary + commission (commission-heavy structure), commensurate with experience
