*What You'll Do*

You'll work directly with the firm's leading litigator in every phase of litigation while developing increasing independence as your experience grows.

Responsibilities include:

* Managing a civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution
* Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
* Conducting legal research and preparing written analysis
* Taking and defending depositions
* Appearing in court for hearings and trials
* Practicing in mediations and arbitrations
* Working directly with clients, experts, witnesses, and opposing counsel
* Helping develop litigation strategy
* Contributing to the continued growth of the litigation practice

You will have:

* Interesting, sophisticated, and challenging litigation work - not repetitive insurance defense work
* Direct mentorship and collaboration from the firm's lead litigator
* Immediate courtroom, deposition, mediation, and client experience
* No unnecessary bureaucracy or multiple layers of supervision
* No arbitrary billable-hour quotas-we measure success by excellent client service, high quality legal work, and teamwork

*Qualifications:*

Required

* Active license to practice law in North Carolina
* Minimum of two (2) years of civil litigation experience
* Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
* Strong oral advocacy and communication skills
* Ability to independently manage litigation matters
* Professionalism, initiative, level-headedness, and sound judgment

*Compensation & Benefits*

*Salary: *Starting at $90,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability, plus bonus opportunities.
