Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty or acute care setting required
• Active RN license in Texas or a compact state
• BLS certification from AHA required
• ACLS certification from AHA required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary care team

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in an acute care environment
• Complete nursing assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments using established protocols
• Monitor patients for changes in condition, treatment effectiveness, and side effects
• Document patient history, symptoms, interventions, and progress accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care plans, discharge needs, and recovery expectations
• Support complex physical, emotional, and psychosocial patient needs
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated patient care
