Summary About the Position: The incumbentparticipates with the physician in conducting diagnostic and therapeutic medical instruments. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Advance In Hire may be authorized for those who are new to federal service. Recruitment Incentive may be authorized. Relocation Incentive may be authorized. - Assist the physician in conducting nuclear medicine stress testing (exercise thallium and stress MUGA exams) utilizing the leg ergometry treadmill.
- Instruct and prepare patient on procedures to be performed and attaches monitoring equipment.
- Conduct special cardiac diagnosis studies in the area of ambulatory monitoring of arrhythmias.
- Operate and maintain specialized ECG tracings in the pacemaker clinic.
- Enter patient data into the CAPOC (Computer Assisted Practice of Cardiology) system using knowledge of special codes, equipment operation procedures, options and retrieval formats.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
- Term Appointment NTE Statement of Understanding is required.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 2 Years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of 6 years depending upon the needs of Organization.
- Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights-based return rights based on an active military service.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In making this determination, the agency may consider your performance and conduct; agency needs and interests; whether your continued employment supports organizational or Government goals; and whether it promotes the efficiency of the Federal service. Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest.

- A Permanent Department of Defense Employee selected for a time-limited promotion or reassignment to fill a temporary position, the selectee must be returned to the position from which he/she was temporarily promoted, or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay.
- The Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 2 Years, if the candidate is not a current permanent Department of Defense employee. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
- Position May Be converted to PERMAMENT without further competition.
- Service in the DoD, dated 10 Aug 18 memo allows for term appointments beyond 6 years up to 8 years to be made in accordance with the authority granted in the 12 Jun 17 memo, waiving the requirements of 5 CFR 316.301.
