Company Overview Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. The hospital originally opened in 1949 near downtown Stanton but was replaced by a state‑of‑the‑art 18‑bed facility in 2012, located on I‑20 and designated as a Critical Access Hospital. Responsibilities MLT- The Medical Laboratory Technologist obtains specimens and performs established clinical tests, follows procedures, interprets test results, performs instrument and equipment maintenance, reviews test requests, performs Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Serology, Molecular or newly developed procedures, maintains confidentiality, provides direct service to patients, follows safety and infection control guidelines. MT – obtains specimens and performs established clinical testing, follows procedures, interprets results, maintains equipment, performs Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Serology and Molecular or newly developed procedures, handles infection control, performs from waived to high‑complexity testing. Educational Requirements MLT – associate degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field. MT – bachelor’s degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field. Licensing / Certification Must be registered and have a Board of Certification (BOC), or test‑eligible, with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT). Experience One (1) year experience as a Generalist.
