Travel Surgical Technologist

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of recent experience for a community hospital operating room position. Requirements BLS certification required Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant surgical technology experience required HS Diploma or GED required Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or military training as a scrub tech required License required if applicable Working knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, and equipment Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Responsibilities Community hospital OR/Surgical Services department Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts (6:45-17:15 or 8:30-19:00) On-call responsibilities required with a 20-minute response time, including overnights, weekends, and holidays Typical on-call requirement is one day per week and one weekend per month, subject to change Supports a variety of surgical procedures across multiple specialties Prepare the sterile field for surgical operations, including setup of sterile instruments and patient draping Assist surgeons in gowning and gloving and directly support the surgical team during operations Pass instruments and supplies, hold retractors, and anticipate surgeons' needs during procedures Distribute supplies and perform equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed Perform general clerical tasks such as updating patient records and organizing OR paperwork and physician preference cards Maintain accurate documentation related to supply inventory and reorder supplies when necessary Ensure the operating room is clean and safe before and after procedures Inspect and calibrate equipment, record QC results, and report malfunctions to supervisor Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and department policies May also perform specific procedures or help orient other staff to the department First-time travelers may be considered Returning staff/travelers must have a separation of at least 1 year before returning Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract Local candidates accepted at the local rate within a 50-mile radius Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-767930 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr
