General Manager

A well-established, growth oriented wholesale building materials distributor is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead full branch operations. What You'll Do Direct and coordinate all branch operations including purchasing, delivery, accounting, and warehouse functions. Develop and implement branch policies, goals, and long‑range strategic objectives aligned with corporate strategy. Manage branch budgets, analyze financial performance, and identify opportunities for operational efficiency. Partner with regional leadership to review operating results and drive corrective action as needed. Lead a team of direct reports overseeing administrative, warehouse, delivery, door shop, and pre‑finish departments. Recruit, develop, and retain key management and team personnel through coaching, training, and performance management. Champion lean principles and foster a culture of continuous improvement across people, costs, production, safety, environment, and quality. Support sales growth initiatives by developing new markets and customers and growing the existing portfolio. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety programs, and applicable state and federal laws. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 6+ years of relevant management experience leading multi‑department teams. Proven ability to manage budgets and monitor financial performance. Strong conflict resolution, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Exceptional communication skills — written, verbal, and in front of groups. Demonstrated ability to motivate, mentor, and develop diverse teams. Excellent organizational and time management skills. High ethical standards and a professional demeanor. Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
