About this Job MedStar Health is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our team at Therapy - Alexandria! The ideal candidate will be a licensed physical therapist with professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy; demonstrated use of varied evaluation and treatment approaches; customer service skills for interacting with patients, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds; and effective communication. The Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services to patients, including but not limited to screening and evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, treatment re‑assessment and revision, patient/client re‑evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation in a variety of settings. The Physical Therapist participates as requested in program planning and protocol development and assists the team in meeting established goals. Primary Duties Provide evaluation services including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results, and explain evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family and incorporate patient and family in goal setting. Demonstrate proficiency in implementation of treatment protocols based upon evaluation findings, patient presentation, and evolving health‑care environment; consult with other healthcare professionals as indicated; recognize and document changes in patient condition requiring modification of plan of care and/or need for medical/rehabilitation consultation. Complete appropriate discharge planning and follow‑up care; accurately and timely document and charge for patient care activities, painting a clear picture of patient course of care including focused initial evaluation/plan of care establishing baseline and goals, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation. Demonstrate effective time management and meet productivity expectations; manage an accurate schedule; provide frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and empathetic actions in patient consumer‑driven environment. Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization; serve as clinical instructor to assign students; assist with orientation and mentoring of inexperienced staff, students, volunteers, and technicians. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy. Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia license required as deemed necessary for your specific location(s). American Heart Association’s BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers CPR certification. Salary range: USD $74,214.00 – $134,596.00 per year. #J-18808-Ljbffr MedStar Health
