About the Firm
- Keenan Law, LLC is a solo-practitioner office handling civil litigation (real estate, business, professional licensure) and immigration matters (asylum, removal defense, adjustment of status, naturalization
Key Responsibilities for the Position
- Manage the office under attorney direction: calendar meetings and hearings, assist with billing, trust account bookkeeping, supplies, and tech upkeep
- Calendar court deadlines, statutes of limitations, and discovery cutoffs
- Assist with drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, and correspondence; handle e-filing
- Conduct research; prepare memos and summaries of depositions and records
- Coordinate depositions, mediations, and hearings; build trial notebooks and exhibits; serve as trial assistant
- Handle client intake and communication under attorney direction; gather records from clients, experts, and providers
- In office Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; occasional extended or weekend hours during trial, hearings, etc.
- Occasional travel to courthouses and depositions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a trial law firm
- Proficiency in Word, Adobe Acrobat
- Proficiency in Westlaw and/or LexisNexis legal search databases
- Excellent critical thinking and writing skills
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
- Professionalism and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of client information
- Willingness to learn working knowledge of civil procedure, court rules, and e-filing in state and federal courts
- Willingness to receive continuing education support and direct mentorship from an experienced litigator
