This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined, detail-oriented individual who is eager to start a career in manufacturing quality control and grow over time.ResponsibilitiesPerform visual inspections of plastic parts to identify defects, inconsistencies, and overall quality issues.Use basic hand tools and gauges, such as calipers and micrometers, to measure and verify part dimensions (training provided).Document inspection results clearly and accurately, and communicate findings to the production team in a timely manner.Assist with packaging and labeling of inspected parts to ensure correct identification and traceability.Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-organized work area to support efficient and safe operations.Follow all safety protocols, shop rules, and company procedures while performing inspection and production-related tasks.Support production activities as needed to help meet quality and output goals.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand how parts and tools function.High attention to detail when inspecting and handling small parts.Dexterity and steady hands for measuring and working with small components.Willingness to learn, take direction, and apply new skills on the job.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance.Basic familiarity or readiness to learn use of calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.Interest in production or manufacturing environments.Self-starter mindset with curiosity and motivation to improve.Additional Skills & QualificationsComfort working in a machine shop environment focused on plastic parts.Ability to read and interpret blueprints or willingness to learn.Interest in quality control, inspection, or manufacturing processes.Experience or interest in working with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) is a plus.Personality that is comfortable with focused, detail-oriented work; individuals who enjoy analytical or gaming-style activities have previously done well in similar roles.Why Work Here?You will step into an environment that invests in your development through on-the-job training and clear growth potential in manufacturing quality control. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, providing consistent daytime hours. The role involves frequent use of hand tools and measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, as well as working around production equipment and inspected parts. The environment suits individuals who are comfortable with hands-on, detail-oriented tasks in a production setting and who can maintain a clean and orderly workspace in accordance with shop standards.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oregon City, OR.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
