The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant treats patients of all ages, serving as a professional role model and clinical resource for staff and students. Responsibilities Include Following and adapting the therapist's plan of care based on patient response, documentation, and communication with the supervising therapist. Implementing patient-centered, occupation-based interventions tailored to physical, cognitive, and behavioral needs. Collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare teams; providing education and training. Maintaining accurate documentation, participating in quality improvement activities, and communicating patient progress effectively. Utilizing standardized outcome measures and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Qualifications Include Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance. Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in Illinois. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days. At least 1 year of work experience, with ongoing continuing education, especially in acute stroke care. Skills Required Strong communication and documentation skills.
