Machine Operator (Extrusion)

The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $19-30 per hour, depending on shift, geographic location, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Location: South Grafton, MA
Shifts: First, Second and Third Shift available
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Job Summary: Eastridge Workforce Solutions is hiring for a machine/extrusion operator for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a leading manufacturer in the area. In this role, you will operate, set up, and monitor wire and cable extrusion equipment while ensuring product quality, safety, and efficiency. You will apply your mechanical aptitude and process knowledge to troubleshoot equipment, optimize production, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, set up, upgrade, troubleshoot, and maintain wire & cable manufacturing equipment.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs promptly.
- Conduct routine preventive and predictive maintenance and document activities in CMMS.
- Respond with a sense of urgency to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
- Assist with equipment installations, relocations, and upgrades.
- Maintain facility systems including HVAC, lighting, and plumbing.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and participate in formal safety program.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and recommend replenishments.
Requirements:
- 1+ years experience in machine operation or manufacturing
- Experience in operations and equipment maintenance in an industrial environment
- Experience creating and reading technical documents (electrical prints, design prints, work instructions)

- Experience in extrusion enclosure fabrication and construction
- Continuous improvement and process facilitation
- PLC monitoring and programming experience
- Willingness to assist with off-shifts and support weekend activities
