Industrial Journeyman CarpentersRichard Construction Inc. (RCI) is currently seeking experienced Industrial Journeyman Carpenters.An Industrial Journeyman Carpenter will construct, dismantle, and repair wooden and metal objects or concrete forms across a construction site.RCI has various levels of carpenter positions based on experience and skills ranked as follows:Carpenter Leadman: NCCER Certified. Responsibilities include erecting scaffolding, ladders, and stairs for assembling structures, constructing concrete formwork, installing wood blocking, operating saws, hammers, drills, and other mechanical tools and equipment. Carpenters also build, repair, and install counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, building framework, and trim. Assists with layout of formwork, partitions, etc., and installs door frames, doors, and door hardware. Accesses confined spaces such as tunnels, shafts, or pits.Carpenter I - Journeyman: NCCER Certified. Similar to "Carpenter Leadman" with 95% ability of greater. Minimum 4+ years experience working as a carpenter or carpenter helper on an industrial construction project.Carpenter II - Cement Finisher: Smooths and finishes surfaces or poured concrete floors, walls, or sidewalks to specified textures, using hand tools or power tools. Requires 3 to 5 years experience in craft trades.Carpenter III - Helper: Help carpenters by performing duties requiring less skill or experience. Duties include using, supplying, or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work area and equipment.Qualification Highlights:Must be able to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, or building plansMust possess all knowledge skills and abilities for position - see belowMust be able to meet all physical requirementsMust have carpentry experience and experience working on an industrial construction siteMust be willing to follow all safety rules and regulationsMust have all required toolsMust be able to regularly and reliably show up at the assigned job siteMust meet all safety and security requirements at the assigned job sitePosition Responsibilities:Read engineered drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations in space (coordinates), quantities, and sizes of materials requiredIdentify all tools required for tasksIdentify safety risks and precautions required to eliminate those risksMeasure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specificationsConstruct, re-enforce, and dismantle pre-constructed concrete formsBuild and construct wooden formsClean up work areasMust be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties (be a Team player)Required Qualifications:Must be able to read engineered drawings proficiently to perform dutiesMust have knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form constructionMust be able to compute basic arithmetic functions, measure, mark, and cut equipment or materials to specificationsMust have reliable transportationMust be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime with little or no notificationMust be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional duties while not performing primary craft dutiesMust be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulationsMust follow all company and site rules and regulationsMust have required toolsAbility to work with others - Team playerGood communication skills with co-workers and supervisorsCommitment to Richard values, safety rules, and regulationsPreferred Qualifications:Richard Construction Inc.
