Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Cath Lab

Capable clinician, focused on expanding knowledge and skills. Consistently provides effective direct care, as part of the interdisciplinary team, to a variety of complex patients. Manages care and implements treatment plans at a refined skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians and other members of the health care team. Seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice. Assumes a beginning leadership role but seeks mentoring in this process.

This position supports the Cardiac Cath Lab. UVA operates five Cardiac catheterization labs. The Cardiac Cath Lab RN cares for patients undergoing coronary angiograms, diagnostic and interventional coronary interventions, right heart catheterizations, structural heart cases, peripheral cases, ventricular support devices, and/or pediatric diagnostic and interventions cases. It is an ideal environment for individuals who enjoy a fast paced and exciting work environment while focusing on one patient at a time. The Cardiac Cath Lab is proud to be part of the nationally ranked UVA Children's Pediatric Cardiology & Heart Surgery program. Regular work hours are Monday - Friday daytime hours. The lab is closed on major holidays. The position does require rotating night, weekend, and holiday call.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.

Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.

Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $42.69 - $56.71 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
