Description

American Traveler is seeking a Chemotherapy/Infusion RN with active IL licensure and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification for a 13-week contract in a hospital infusion setting.

Details

• Hospital-based infusion/consulting services department
• Patients receiving IV infusions including chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and drug therapies
• Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IL RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification through the Oncology Nursing Society required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2+ years preferred
• Chemotherapy administration experience preferred
• Strong EMR navigation and computer skills
• Date of birth (DOB) and SSN may be required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for initiating IVs via central venous devices or peripheral access and administering blood transfusions, chemotherapy, and drug infusions
• Manages antineoplastic agents and therapy in accordance with safety protocols, accounting for physical and psychological effects, risks, and benefits
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments including pain assessment, medical history, and age/culturally appropriate care planning
• Educates patients and families on treatment plans, follow-up instructions, and pain management techniques
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and communicates patient status changes to practitioners
• Participates in performance improvement activities
