Radiology Technician

Position Overview Radiology Technician – FryeCare Urgent Care, Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health. Schedule & Shift Weekdays with rotating weekend and holidays. Shift: PRN Days. Position Summary Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Essential Functions Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation. Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes as appropriate. Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Positions patient and performs imaging procedures. Analyzes results and identifies issues with image quality. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results. Required Skills Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Education & Certification Associate Degree in Science required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
