About the Position

Job Title: Cytotechnologist Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Cytotechnology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Must possess a valid state license at the time of submission Certifications: ASCP-CT required Must-Have: - Experience with Thin Prep, ascitic fluid, esophageal, gastric, spinal, bronchial samples - Ability to make smears and assist with on-site procedures - Knowledge in preliminary diagnosis, staining, and specimen labeling/identification Description: Please ensure that you are aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, the unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team" where there will be an expectation to stay until an event passes or to be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed during each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract, you accept these terms and will report as assigned if an emergency event occurs. You should not apply for a role if you are not comfortable with these expectations. The unit is open to candidates taking any of the below shifts for their contract: 07:00 - 15:30, 07:30 - 16:00, 08:00 - 16:30. The person selected will be expected to handle onsite procedures and screening, including PAP GYN image-guided ThinPrep screening, and NON-GYN screening. The position will require balancing responsibilities with an experienced Cytotechnologist. Travelers must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in specialty. Local travelers are not accepted; candidates must live over 65 miles away. References will not be required for submission, but 2 manager or supervisor references will be needed prior to starting the contract.
