Production Engineer

Position Title: Production EngineerReports to: Operations ManagerJob Summary: Engineering / line support for the daily production of LaPorte site unit operationsResponsibilities:Responsibility for assigned production units in compliance with established health, safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, permits and regulatory requirementsTechnical review and evaluation of unit operations including data monitoring, analysis, and record keepingDevelop / champion improvements that enhance/upgrade unit performanceProcess safety information maintenance including procedures, technical information, drawings, etc.Maintenance coordination and scheduling, including preventive maintenance complianceParticipation in and support of project engineering, new installations, new product introductionsTroubleshooting / problem solving for unit operationsParticipation in the proper training and direction of the workforceEmergency crew participation including fire brigade, hazmat response, and confined space entry rescueEducation and/or ExperienceA Technical bachelor’s degree is required. Chemical Engineering is preferred.A minimum of 5 years’ chemical plant manufacturing experience is required with an emphasis on unit operation and leadership.Demonstrated project leadership experience, including start up and commissioning efforts for new processes/equipment and new product introduction is requiredIn-depth understanding of chemical plant unit operations including reaction mechanisms, distillation operations, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, mass transfer, kinetics, etc. is required.Direct experience with PSM/RMP covered processes is required, including participation in Process Hazard Analyses, Management of Change and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.Demonstrated record of achieving cost efficiency is requiredStrong safety background in a hazardous chemical process environment is required.SkillsStrong interpersonal leadership skillsStrong verbal and written communication abilitiesStrong data analysis skillsDemonstrated history of critical thinking, problem solving, and actionMS Office Suite applicationsEnterprise resource planning / computerized maintenance management system platforms (SAP, Oracle, Chempax, Maximo, etc.)Experience with reading prints, schematics, drawings and process informationPerformance MeasurementsSafety PerformanceQuality ObjectivesProduction RatesOn-stream TimeRaw Material EfficienciesPeriod Cost ControlInventory ControlOperator Performance #J-18808-Ljbffr
