Labcorp is seeking a Histotechnician to join our team in Seattle, WA.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 4:30AM-12:00PM

Job Responsibilities:

• Process human tissue and body fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic exam
• Perform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides of surgical specimens
• Section the embedded tissue, using a microtome and mount the section properly on a microscope slide
• Perform various immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections
• Process mounted sections through routine and special staining procedures
• Properly orient and embed surgical tissue specimens
• Prepare the stains and reagents needed for special procedures
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Operate and maintain manual and automated instruments
• Perform and document equipment maintenance as needed
• Record equipment log data in an accurate and timely manner
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies
• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, analysis, and reporting
• Document problems that may affect test performance and perform corrective actions as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Histology or a High School diploma or equivalent with 1 or more years of histology experience

Preferred Qualification:

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• Histology and/or ASCP certifications
• 6 months or more Immunohistochemistry experience

Additional Job Standards:

• Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment
• Immunohistochemistry experience
• Comfortability embedding both large and small specimens
• Ability to accurately read all labels and documents
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
• Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocols
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

**Pay Range: $29.10 - $44.47 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience and the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between Dynacare Northwest, Inc. and United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 21.

Benefits: Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), accrue up to 18 days of Annual Leave per year (includes 8 holidays) and Sick Leave (0.0333) hours of sick leave for each hour of work) capped at 64 hours per year, Tuition Reimbursement, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
