Utility Worker

Entry‑Level Utility Technician – Essential Services Provider Location: Pensacola, FL Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pay: $18/hr A local water company in Pensacola is looking for a candidate to join their team as a Utility Technician. This entry‑level role offers hands‑on experience in the utilities industry and opportunities for growth. The candidate will work outdoors, solve problems, and support community infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Repair Locate and repair leaks in water and sewer lines. Replace damaged utility components such as valves, fittings, and meters. Clean and maintain utility infrastructure, including fire hydrants and lift stations. Perform routine inspections of utility lines and equipment. Assist with installation of new utility lines and service connections. Dig trenches and backfill excavations safely and efficiently. Install and connect new water meters. Emergency Response Respond to emergency calls for utility disruptions, including leaks or outages. Isolate leaks and take quick action to minimize damage. Additional Duties Read and record water meter data accurately. Perform landscaping and maintenance on city properties. Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively. Requirements Comfortable working long shifts outdoors in all weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and personal transportation. Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Check. Compliance with the company’s Drug‑Free Workplace Policy. No medical marijuana cards; must pass required drug screenings.
