A Day in the Life of a Registered Nurse (RN)

As a PRN RN, you play a vital role in assessing and supporting patients in their homes. Your responsibilities include:

• Conducting patient visits to assess nursing needs
• Completing initial evaluation visits and developing individualized plans of care
• Performing ongoing assessments and revising plans as needed under physician direction
• Providing skilled nursing treatments and educating patients and caregivers on disease processes, self?care, and prevention
• Initiating preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures as ordered
• Preparing clinical and progress notes and coordinating services with other care team members
• Communicating directly with physicians and staff to ensure continuity of care
• Re?evaluating patient needs and assisting with discharge planning
• Supervising LPNs, vocational nurses, and home health aides when appropriate
• Practicing infection control and universal precautions
• Reporting suspected abuse according to state and federal guidelines
• Assisting with office tasks and new?nurse orientation when needed

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing
• Active RN license in the state of Oklahoma
• At least 1 year of nursing experience
• CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
• Ability to travel long distances and adapt to changing schedules
• Experience in home health, critical care, or emergency care is preferred

Work Schedule

PRN position with flexible hours Friday through Monday
