WORK IN PARADISE
Join the culinary team at Little Palm Island Resort & Spa, a private island destination in the Florida Keys. Through our recent partnership with Chef Curtis Duffy, the resort is elevating its culinary program with strong fundamentals, organization, and consistent execution in a focused, team-oriented kitchen.
THE ROLE The Server is responsible for providing attentive, accurate, and friendly service to assigned tables during both breakfast/lunch and dinner service. This role centers on guest experience, food and beverage delivery, and supporting smooth daily restaurant operations. Servers are expected to guide guests confidently through the experience while maintaining high service standards and a clean, organized station.
AM SHIFT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and introduce beverage options.
- Take accurate orders and confirm allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Serve and describe food and beverages with expertise.
- Monitor tables throughout the meal, including refills, napkin replacement, and clearing plates.
- Coordinate with kitchen and support staff for efficient timing and delivery.
- Present checks and process payment promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized station throughout service.
- Create WOW moments through personal touches and attentiveness.
- Escort guests to the bathroom as needed.
PM SHIFT RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create WOW moments through personal touches and attentiveness.
- Escort guests to the bathroom as needed.
SERVICE FLOW
- Approach the table promptly and establish rapport.
- Confirm and repeat guest orders for accuracy.
- Coordinate food and beverage timing with the support team.
- Maintain the table throughout service by refolding napkins, replenishing silverware and glassware, and wiping the table.
- Ensure proper pacing and pairing of wine and food during PM service.
- Describe and serve coffee and tea as part of the dining experience.
- Present and process the check smoothly.
KNOWLEDGE & STANDARDS
- Master menu knowledge, ingredients, and allergy protocols.
- Know beverage options and basic pairing principles.
- Uphold service flow, professional appearance, and uniform standards.
- Communicate positively and confidently with guests and teammates.
- Use call-backs and teamwork signals to ensure accuracy.
- Stay detail-oriented and attentive to service cues, including “dead stems” and “dead water.”
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
- Stand tall, maintain confident posture, and move smoothly during service.
- Use precise, positive language and avoid filler words.
- Anticipate guest needs and read guest cues proactively.
- Support non-verbal and team communication for a seamless experience.
STEP-BY-STEP SERVICE PATTERN
- Ensure candles are lit and table settings are ready prior to opening.
- Welcome seated guests and present menus.
- Call “on deck” with the expeditor, greet the table, and confirm water preference.
- Organize water service and verify allergies or restrictions.
- Take beverage orders, coordinate with the back server, and enter into Toast.
- Take food orders, coordinate with the back server, and enter into Toast.
- Coordinate wine service with the sommelier and back server during PM service.
- Serve and describe food courses, synchronize clearing and resetting, and maintain beverage flow.
- Communicate all orders and service steps clearly through Toast and team signals.
- Complete all remaining steps for an exceptional, seamless experience.
- Process the check promptly, thank guests, and reset the station for the next service.
- Execute any additional task requested by the MOD.
