Main Duties:

• Act as the primary care physician for both adolescent and adult patients.
• Order a comprehensive range of radiology and laboratory tests, diagnose conditions, and prescribe suitable treatments.
• Provide education and consultation to other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Maintain accurate records for all medical services rendered, adhering to established procedures and regulations.
• Oversee operations as the medical director of the troop medical clinic, immunization team, and soldier processing center.
• Note that medical malpractice liability insurance is not necessary for federal civilian healthcare providers due to coverage under the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while performing their duties.

To be considered for this role, candidates must fulfill the educational and experiential criteria outlined below. Relevant experience includes both paid and unpaid roles, such as volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, community, student, or social). All qualifying experiences, including volunteer work, will be taken into account. Your resume should clearly detail your relevant experiences; if qualification is based on education, transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Basic Requirements for Physician (Family Practice):

• Degree: A Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by recognized bodies such as the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. For degrees obtained from foreign medical schools, equivalency to accredited U.S. institutions must be demonstrated through permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
• Licensure: Candidates must hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• Graduate Training: After obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have at least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited hospital or institution.
• Residency Training: Applicants must have successfully completed an accredited residency in the relevant specialty (Family Medicine) and possess equivalent experience and training totaling at least four years. Experience cannot substitute for the required residency training for this specialty.
