CMM Programmer/Operator (Aerospace Manufacturing) Full Time Tempe, AZ, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1048 About the Role We're hiring a CMM Programmer/Operator to run dimensional inspection on aerospace-grade components using Coordinate Measuring Machines and PC-DMIS software. This is a hands‑on precision measurement role at the core of our quality operation; you'll program CMM routines, inspect parts against tight tolerances, and verify conformance on tubes, tooling, fixtures, gears, and machined components. What You'll Do Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (Hexagon CMM) using PC‑DMIS/Quindos software Inspect tubes, tooling, fixtures, gears, and machined components for dimensional accuracy Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements Develop, edit, and maintain CMM inspection programs for new and existing parts Verify part conformance against engineering specifications and tight tolerances Document inspection results and maintain accurate, traceable quality records Support internal and customer audits and AS9100 compliance activities Investigate nonconformances and help drive corrective actions Communicate inspection results and quality concerns to engineering and production teams What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED (required); associate degree in a related technical field a plus 2–3 years of experience in Hexagon CMM operation, metrology, or quality inspection (aerospace/manufacturing environment preferred) Working knowledge of Hexagon CMM equipment and PC‑DMIS/Quindos software, or willingness to learn quickly if not already experienced Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, etc.) Strong attention to detail with solid documentation and recordkeeping habits Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, ratios, tolerances) and ability to interpret statistical data Working knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across teams ASQ CQT certification or Hexagon/PC‑DMIS training a plus, but not required Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and pass periodic vision exams to ensure measurement accuracy. Work is performed in a combination of tool crib, inspection lab, and manufacturing floor environments.
