C-UAS Senior Field Applications Engineer

Moodro is seeking a Senior Field Applications & Customer Solutions Engineer to serve as a critical link between our customers, field operations, and product development teams.

  This is a highly hands-on, customer-facing role for an engineer who wants to spend significant time with the customer and the product in real-world operating environments. You will lead customer demonstrations, field evaluations, operational exercises, system integrations, and product testing while developing a deep understanding of how customers use our technology, what they need from it, and where the product can improve.

The ideal candidate is not someone who simply shows up to demonstrate a system. They are someone who takes ownership of the customer experience, understands the operational problem we are solving, gets hands-on with the technology, solves problems in the field, and brings meaningful customer and field insight back into the company.

Approximately 60% of the role will be spent in the field with customers, partners, and Moodro systems, with approximately 40% focused on internal product testing, technical preparation, and translating field insights into product and process improvements.

  Position Summary

The Senior Field Applications & Customer Solutions Engineer will be the primary technical and operational interface between Moodro and its customers during demonstrations, evaluations, exercises, integration events, and field deployments.

This individual will:

• Build strong working relationships with customers and understand their operational requirements and mission needs.
• Lead hands-on demonstrations and field evaluations of Moodro's products and systems.
• Operate, configure, troubleshoot, and continuously improve systems in real-world environments.
• Translate customer needs and field observations into actionable technical and product feedback.
• Work closely with engineering and product teams to test new capabilities and influence product improvements.
• Identify gaps between the product and customer requirements and help develop practical solutions.
• Represent the voice of the customer internally while representing Moodro professionally in the field.
• Take ownership of successful technical outcomes, from preparation through execution and follow-up.

The role works closely with the Project Manager, who owns the business and program-management aspects of customer engagements. The Senior Field Applications & Customer Solutions Engineer owns the technical, operational, and customer-facing execution of the product in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Field Engagement

• Serve as a trusted technical partner to customers, test officers, operators, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
• Spend extensive time with customers in the field to understand their operational environments, mission requirements, workflows, and pain points.
• Lead and execute customer demonstrations, field evaluations, operational exercises, integration events, and trials.
• Demonstrate Moodro products in a way that connects technical capabilities to real customer missions and operational outcomes.
• Work directly with end users to understand how they interact with the product and identify opportunities to improve usability, performance, and mission effectiveness.
• Build credibility and strong relationships with customers through technical expertise, responsiveness, and hands-on problem solving.

Product & Technical Execution

• Become a deep technical and operational expert on Moodro's products and systems.
• Prepare, configure, test, operate, and maintain demonstration and evaluation systems.
• Translate customer requirements and operational scenarios into equipment configurations, test plans, and execution strategies.
• Work with engineering teams to prepare and validate new product capabilities prior to field deployment.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, RF, and integrated system issues in demanding field environments.
• Perform field-level repairs, modifications, configuration changes, and other technical interventions when required.
• Identify recurring technical issues and work with engineering to determine root causes and solutions.
• Support integration of Moodro systems with customer and partner systems.

Voice of Customer & Product Improvement

• Capture structured feedback from customers and end users following demonstrations, evaluations, and operational exercises.
• Identify customer needs, product gaps, usability issues, and opportunities for new capabilities.
• Translate field observations into clear, actionable feedback for engineering and product teams.
• Participate in product reviews and development discussions based on direct field experience.
• Test prototypes and new product releases in realistic operating environments.
• Help validate whether product improvements actually solve the customer's problem.
• Close the feedback loop by communicating product improvements and solutions back to customers when appropriate.
• Maintain a continuous feedback cycle between customer → field → product → customer .

Field Readiness & Operations

• Ensure all equipment and systems are fully tested, configured, documented, and mission-ready before deployment.
• Develop and maintain field deployment and demonstration checklists.
• Coordinate shipment, receipt, setup, teardown, and return of demonstration equipment.
• Maintain and organize the company's demonstration and evaluation equipment inventory.
• Ensure appropriate spare equipment, tools, cables, components, and support materials are available for each event.
• Coordinate technical personnel supporting field events and ensure alignment on technical objectives.
• Prepare concise post-event reports documenting outcomes, customer feedback, technical issues, lessons learned, and recommended actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in field engineering, field applications engineering, systems integration, technical demonstrations, defense systems, robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace, telecommunications, or similarly complex technical environments.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with customers in technical or operational environments.
• Experience planning and executing customer demonstrations, field testing, operational evaluations, system deployments, or integration activities.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand both the technical capabilities of a system and the operational problem it is intended to solve.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build credibility with both highly technical stakeholders and operational end users.
• Ability to gather customer feedback, identify patterns, and communicate actionable insights to engineering and product teams.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently in dynamic field environments.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while traveling extensively.
• Willingness to travel extensively, approximately 60–80%, and work in demanding field environments.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense or allied military customers.
• Direct experience working with military operators, test organizations, program offices, or defense contractors.
• Experience with unmanned systems, counter-UAS (C-UAS), electronic warfare (EW), signals intelligence (SIGINT), RF systems, tactical communications, or other advanced defense technologies.
• Experience with systems integration or operating complex technical systems in the field.
• Experience supporting an early-stage or rapidly scaling technology company.
• Experience taking customer or field feedback and translating it into product requirements or engineering improvements.
• Active U.S. security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
